“ESI or Expat Spouses Initiative is a bottom-up, community-driven initiative that connects international professionals, especially partners or spouses of international workers in the region, with local opportunities. We are now the largest professional network in the Eindhoven region. Tilburg University as a socially conscientious educational institution in the region is committed towards both dual career for international spouses of their employees and making their international employees feel at home in the Tilburg region. We therefore believe Tilburg University is a strong partner for ESI to take our movement outside Eindhoven and expand to and build other international cities in the Netherlands bottom-up.”
People are what makes Tilburg University so special. This is enough reason for us to invest in our employees. When an employee has to move to the Netherlands, we also find enough reason to invest in the support of the international employee’s family. We realize that the talent of the international trailing spouse should not go to waste. Not only because we want to give the entire family an incentive to remain in the region, but because we also see it as our corporate social responsibility to contribute to the economic growth of the region. Our partnership with ESI fits perfectly in this win-win scenario.
Tilburg University contributes to solving social issues. We achieve this mainly by developing and transferring knowledge and bringing together people from various disciplines and organizations. Therefore we have invited companies, organizations, government, and citizens to work together with us to develop new insights and solutions which create value for society. We create this innovation by conducting research, by learning, and by understanding. Understanding Society.
Highly qualified staff is an unchanging precondition for achieving these ambitions; it is the foundation on which our university is built. Our international HR policy contributes to this by offering excellent support during the recruitment and onboarding stage. With Inclusion as a key word for all other stages in the employees career path.
