Moving to a new country can be an exciting adventure, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles for international talent, especially spouses and accompanying partners, is restarting their career.

We believe in a community-driven approach that focuses on helping the international community of Brabant connect to local professional opportunities. Our community is our strength!

Our professional community consists of over 3,500 members from all educational backgrounds and professions.

Say Hello

This is a MEETUPS for internationals to meet our Community Manager, learn more about ESI, and meet other international professionals. Each session is approximately 90 minutes and is hosted twice monthly in either online or in person.

Member Form

By completing the Member Form, international job seekers will be added to our recruitment database which we use to identify talent to fill the vacancies of our partners or invite to specialised recruitment and networking events.
Please have a current CV available.

Volunteer

We invite and encourage everyone who’s a part of our network, to give back to the ESI community. You can share your expertise and co-create a MEETUPS event or workshop, host an inspirational fireside chat, or activate a professional tribe to motivate other members.

Another benefit of joining the ESI community, is that you have access to the ESI Online Platform.

The platform allows the entire community to connect with each other 24/7 and start to build a new professional and social network with other international professionals across all professional backgrounds and nationalities.

We use the platform to share our events and other events that the community might find of interest, career-related advice, volunteering opportunities, exclusive job opportunities from our partners, as well as access to member’s only events only advertised and available for registration on the platform.

Address Your Four Gaps to Enter the Dutch Labour Market

Taking your career forward means knowing your goals, how they fit into the current demands of the Dutch labour market and bridging the distance in these four key gaps: career, networking, culture and language.

We mainly focus on the career and network gaps; however, it is important for international talent to understand their standing in all four gaps.

Career Gap

A career gap can mean many things for international talent. It could be that they have taken significant time out during their career, that their profession is protected by law in the Netherlands or their profession is one where Dutch-speaking candidates are often preferred.

Language Gap

Language proficiency is essential to feeling at home, integrating socially, and succeeding professionally for professions such as human resources, lawyers, and teachers. The degree to which you learn Dutch will have a great impact on how you experience life in the Netherlands.

Network Gap

In the Netherlands networking is very important, therefore, building a strong professional network is key to finding job opportunities.

Culture Gap

Understanding Dutch culture is crucial when it comes to integrating into society and building professional and social relationships.

Do you know your career, culture, network, and language gaps?
Acknowledging them is an important first step for international talents looking to restart their careers. But don’t let these challenges hold you back from achieving your full potential.

Join us at Expat Spouses Initiative and let us guide you on your journey towards a successful career in the Netherlands!

Our programs and events are designed to help internationals overcome the four gaps, especially in career and networking.

A 12-week program that helps unemployed, highly skilled and educated international professionals enter the Dutch labour market through a variety of career development, personal branding, and other practical workshops.

Women for Women is our long-standing mentorship program that pairs influential local women with female international talent. This program can run either as a part of the Talent100 program or sponsored separately by an organisation.
During a series of three, three-hour workshops participants will learn how to improve their CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and interview skills with professional trainers from the European Employment Services (EURES).
